1. 33 cases of pyogenic meningitis are reviewed. 2. The importance of early diagnosis and institution of specific therapy to curtail mortality is stressed. 3. That meningitis can occur without neck rigidity, positive Kernig’s sign or bulging fontanelle has been mentioned. 4. The features for early clinical diagnosis and the importance of routine lumbar punctures are emphasized. 5. The pneumococcal variety is the commonest in this series. 6. The presence of sub-dural effusion and low C.S.F. pressure states are explained.
