Interferometria ultrasonora nei gas

Abstract

Dopo aver richiamato le principali quistioni connesse col fenomeno della dispersione degli ultrasuoni nei gas, si descrive un interferometro del tipo a cammino variabile, che permette di determinare le costanti di propagazione (velocita e coefficiente di assorbimento) di ultrasuoni nei gas e vapori, per frequenze comprese tra 50 e 2000 kHz e si insiste sulla tecnica sperimentale e sulle precauzioni da prendere in questo tipo di misure. Si da quindi notizia di alcune misure preliminari fatte nella anidride carbonica e nel gas illuminante, dalle quali risulta che anche in quest'ultimo gas (e ben noto che l'anidride carbonica e dispersiva) c'e dispersione di velocita, nella banda di frequenze da 58 a 1400 kHz sperimentata.
