In this paper, we introduced our mass screening system for NB in Kyoto, which is useful for early detection of NB and is expected to improve the survival rate of these patients. In addition to the beneficial results, we discussed several problems associated with the NB-mass sceening program. The NB-mass screening system can be adapted for use all over the world as a useful and simple detection method comparable to phenylketonuria, galactosemia tests, such as several inborn errors of meatbolism.
