In a study of chronic suppurative otitis media among children attending a Rural Health Centre at Lucknow, the majority (47.4%) was in the age group of 10–14 years and males (57.9%).Staph. aureaus was the commonest isolate (44.0%) followed byE. coli (11.1%),Staph. albus (10.2%),Strep. pyogenes (8.5%).Strep. viridans (5.9%),Prot. vulgaris (5.9%) and others.
