Multiaxial fatigue — An overview

Abstract

Many engineering components are subjected to multiaxial type of fatigue loading and the fatigue life relation based on uniaxial testing needs modifications before it could be used for multiaxial condition. In this paper a brief review of the different approaches based on stress and strain is presented for the correlation of bulk parameters with the fatigue life and the merits and limitations are discussed.
