An external electromagnetic interaction is intrcduced into the Gursey eight-component spinor equation which displays relations between charge independence, baryon conservation. and the Pauli transformation. From the Gursey equation. and within the limits of doubletapproximation, a pair of second order, two-component relativistic wave equations was obtained which describes all baryons. (C.J.G.)
