AnS-matrix calculation is made using theN/D method for the low-energyS-wave π-π scattering. The approximation involves replacing the left-hand cut by two poles whose positions are fixed a priori. Their residues are then determined using the approximate crossing relations at the symmetry point. The calculations suggest that «satisfactory» solutions are obtained with\(A{}_0^0 \left( {\upsilon _0 } \right)\left( { \approx - 5\lambda } \right) = - 0.6\). TheS-wave phase shifts are repuisive in both isobaric spin states with scattering lengthsa1 (sign convention: δ=−ak,k→0):a0≈+1.1,a2≈+0.5.
