Abstract

Wirtschaftspolitik, Prognose und FlexibilitAt. — Der vorliegende Aufsatz beschAftigt sich mit dem Problem, ob es besser ist, eine unbewegliche oder bestAndige Wirtschaftspolitik zu betreiben, als eine solche der »Feinabstimmung« (fine-tuning) oder des schnellen Wechsels (zig-zag policies). Er zeigt, daΒ Anpassung der kontrollierbaren Variablen an die Prognosen von Periode zu Periode fur unkontrollierbare Variable einen niedrigeren Ertrag erbringen mag als die Nichtanpassung, selbst wenn die steigenden Entscheidungskosten und moglichen sekundAren Unsicherheitseffekte der «Feineinstellung» oder von «Stop-Go Policies» vernachlAssigt werden, und zwar sogar dann, wenn man uber einige Geschicklichkeit in der Prognose verfugt. Dieses Ergebnis hilft uns, den Wert unserer EinschAtzung verschiedener makro- und mikrookonomischer MaΒnahmen abzuschAtzen und mag unsere Beurteilung derselben verAndern.
