Commercial blends were prepared from Ketonic (Cydohexanone Formaldehyde) — Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL)-stryenated resin and their coating properties such as drying time, hardness, adhesion, flexibility, gloss, skinning tendency, impact resistance and chemical resistance were studied for different compositions. The scope of the work was to produce a better combination of properties than those of the individual components. It was observed that the blend of of 50:50 percent (w/w) of ketonic (cyclohexanone formaldehyde) — styrenated CNSL resin shows a notable improvement in coating properties over those of individual resins.
