A brief history of wooden eyeglass cases, including time periods of their use, the various production materials and decoration methods, and the purposes they served. An introduction of a previously unrecognized source for wooden eyeglass cases, Tunbridge Ware, which is a series of mosaics crafted of various types of wood. The history of its production. is described, including early and late products, and the native woods of Tunbridge Wells are compared to foreign woods. Other types of wood eyeglass case are described.
