Die Markfleckigkeit des Coigue-Holzes [Nothofagus dombeyi (Mirb.) Oerst.]

Abstract

Der Coigue [Nothofagus dombeyi (Mirb.) Oerst.] ist die nach Bestandesflache, Stammzahl und Holzvorrat bedeutendste Laubbaumart des chilenischen Naturwaldes. Seine kennzeichnenden Holzeigenschaften werden beschrieben. Unter den Fehlern des Coigueholzes kommt der Markfleckigkeit besonderes Gewicht zu, da sie artspezifisch ist und in fast allen Altersstufen auftritt. Innerhalb des Jahrrings sind die in der Mitte und vor allem die im Spatholz gebildeten Markflecken groser und nachteiliger als die im Fruhholz auftretenden. Die Untersuchungen zeigten auf, das die Flecken durch Miniergange von Agromyzidenlarven ausgelost und durch das danach vom verletzten Kambium gebildete Wundholz verdeutlicht werden. Dabei kommt es zunachst zu einer Verstarkung der Parenchymzellenbildung, spater auch zum Auftreten groserer Faserzonen. Zusammen mit den Kotablagerungen der Larve verursachen sie die kennzeichnende rotbraune Verfarbung des Holzes, das dadurch u. U. seine Furnierfahigkeit einbust. Ansatzpunkte fur eine wirtschaftliche Bekampfung erscheinen nicht gegeben.
