QU'ELLES SOIENT UTILISEES EN CONSTRUCTION ROUTIERE OU QUE L'OBJECTIF VISE LA PRODUCTION DE BLOCS STABILISES POUR L'HABITAT ECONOMIQUE. TROIS TYPES D'ARENES ONT ETE SELECTIONNES. LEURS CARACTERISTIQUES MINERALOGIQUES ET GEOTECHNIQUES SONT DECRITES AINSI QUE LES ROCHES DONT ELLES DERIVENT. LES ARENES ETUDIEES DIFFERENT PAR : - LEUR GRANULARITE, - LA MINERALOGIE DE LEUR FRACTION ARGILEUSE, - LE DEGRE D'ALTERATION QUI LES AFFECTE. LE TRAITEMENT EST REALISE DANS LE BUT D'OBTENIR UN MATERIAU DONT LA RESISTANCE MECANIQUE SOIT SUFFISANTE ET L'INSENSIBILITE A L'EAU SATISFAISANTE. LES RESULTATS METTENT EN EVIDENCE LES DIFFERENCES ENTRE MATERIAUX. SUR EPROUVETTES SECHES, LES MEILLEURS RESULTATS SONT OBTENUS AVEC LES ARENES LES PLUS ARGILEUSES, SUR EPROUVETTES SATUREES NOUS CONSTATONS QUE LA MINERALOGIE DE LA FRACTION ARGILEUSE INTERVIENT. C'EST AINSI AUE L'ECHANTILLON LE PLUS PERFORMANT EST A LA FOIS LE PLUS ARGILEUX MAIS EGALEMENT CELUI DONT LA FRACTION ARGILEUSE NE CONTIENT PAS DE SMECTITES.
