A pulse-period or frequency meter with fast response to changes has been constructed, utilizing the principle of time measurement by alternate charging and voltage measurement of two capacitors. It has been applied to cardiotachometry. Previously published cardiotachometer circuits with fast response are briefly reviewed. The linearization of scale for frequency-measuring devices utilizing capacitor charging is discussed.
