Abstract

Die Feinstruktur der Granula iridis (Traubenkorner) wird bei einigen Ruminantia (Ziege, Schaf, Rind) erstmalig untersucht. Die Granula stellen Wucherungen des Pigmentepithels dar, die zahlreiche grose Cysten mit Stroma, Blutgefasen und Nerven enthalten. Daneben existieren Mikrocysten, die sich zwischen den Pigmentzellen bilden. Die Zellen sind durch lange Cytoplasmafortsatze miteinander verzahnt (Abb. 3b). An der Grenzflache zu den groseren Cysten bilden die Pigmentzellen langgestreckte Fortsatze nach Art eines basalen Labyrinthes aus (Abb. 3a), in die die Basalmembran teilweise vorragt. Im Cystenstroma liegen zahlreiche marklose Nerven, deren Axone grostenteils freiliegen und auffallend haufig Anschwellungen mit synaptischen Vesikeln besitzen. Meist handelt es sich um kleine, gleichformige Blaschen ohne Kern (Abb. 6 und 7). Daneben wurden aber auch gelegentlich grosere, nervose Endanschwellungen mit heteromorphen Granulationen beobachtet, deren Natur unklar ist (Abb. 8). An den Gefasen fanden sich strukturell keine Besonderheiten. Es wird vermutet, das die Granula fur die Regulation der Kammerwasserzirkulation eine Bedeutung haben.
