Abstract

1. The construction of the bucket-ladder suction dredge prevents clogging of the intake of the impeller of the suction dredge and its intense wear when excavating ground with a content of large boulders. 2. The use of the bucket-ladder dredge, particularly the dredge with the sluice apparatus, increases the utilization factor of the operating time from 0.3–0.4 to 0.75–0.8, which ultimately increases productivity and lowers the cost of excavation.
