Abstract

MancheEntomophthora-Arten sind im Infektionsversuch nicht so wirtsspezifisch, wie oft angenommen wird. So waren die TermitenCoptotermes formosanus undReticulitermes lucifugus gegenuberEntomophthora destruens, E. thaxteriana und 2 Stammen vonE. virulenta anfallig; die unterschiedliche Mortalitat erreichte 65–100%. Das Infektionsoptimum furE. destruens lag bei 15–22°C. 3–5 Tage alte Dotterplattenkulturen brachten starkste Konidien-bildung und Infektionsitat. Die Virulenz vonE. thaxteriana konnte durch geeignete Wirtspassage gesteigert werden.
