In the article under review, a factorization is provided for the system of equations for a nonlinear Maxwell body which is universal for describing the dynamic behavior of condensed materials with elastoplastic kinetics. A rough system of independent nonlinear equations is obtained for waves related to various families of longitudinal characteristics. Waves are connected implicitly via the nonuniform shear of phases. For a model of an ideally elastoplastic material, the author solves analytically the problem of the self-interaction of a plane shock wave when it emerges at the free surface.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 1 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
