Abstract

1. Unter Bedingungen einer Massenvermehrung uberwintern dort, wo winterliche Bekampfungsmasnahmen nicht sehr sorgfaltig durchgefuhrt worden sind, grose Mengen von Buchdruckern im Boden. 2. Uber Temperaturabhangigkeit und Verlauf des Schwarmens von Bodenuberwinterern werden nahere Angaben gemacht. 3. Von Ende Marz bis zum Hohepunkt Anfang Mai (bei kuhlerer Witterung entsprechend spater) findet ein Reifungsfras der Kafer statt, der zuerst an den Stocken, spater vor allem an stehendem Holz groste Kafermengen auf engstem Raum vereinigt und Gelegenheit zu konzentrierter Vernichtung vor Beginn des eigentlichen Brutfrases gibt.
