Radiotelemetrie in der Wildbiologie

Abstract

Der hohe Standard, den die Radiotelemetrie in den letzten Jahrzehnten erreicht hat, hat der Wildbiologie ganz neue Dimensionen erschlossen. Es werden daher die Grundprinzipien einfacherer Telemetrieanlagen, wie sie gerade fur die Freilandforschung haufig Verwendung finden, erlautert sowie einige bundesdeutsche und amerikanische Fabrikate vorgestellt. Daruber hinaus werden Probleme aufgezeigt, die sich hinsichtlich Frequenzwahl, Energieversorgung, Senderbefestigung am Tier und Sendergewicht ergeben konnen. Ein kurzer Abris uber die grundsatzliche Bedeutung der Telemetrie fur die Forschung und das weite Spektrum ihrer Einsatzmoglichkeiten schliest die Darstellung ab. Dabei geht es vor allem um Feldarbeiten aus dem Gebiet der Physiologie und Okologie mit der Absicht, dem an telemetrischen Methoden Interessierten einen gewissen Uberblick zu vermitteln.
