Abstract

1. In measuring intestinal absorption by direct intubation techniques, the error introduced by incomplete recovery of intestinal contents may be corrected by use of a nonabsorbable reference material. 2. Hypertonic solutions induce rapid transfer of fluid into the gut and greatly impair iodide absorption.
