Experimental determinations of mass-attenuation coefficients for soils of various grain sizes are presented. The coefficient values were found to change slightly with particle size, but, overall, resemble values from other studies. The slopes of mass-attenuation coefficients vs. particle diameter were consistently positive, contrary to published results.
