Abstract

Los autores recogen datos estadisticos sobre procedencia y localizacion anatomica, clasificacion micologica, edad, sexo de un numero apreciable de casos de Micetomas, Cromomicosis, Esporotricosis y enfermedad de „Jorge Lobo“, estudiados en diversas zonas del pais por varios investigadores. Senalan 37 casos de micetomas, todos en personas mayores de 10 anos, siendo un 81% de sexo masculino y el 19% restante femenino, el 60% de ellos tenian localizacion en miembros inferiores. 25% en tronco, 10% en cabeza y 5% en miembros superiores. Siete especies de hongos han sido aislados de las mismas. De los 83 casos estudiados de cromomicosis, el 77% son de sexo masculino, siendo la edad de mayor prevalencia de los 40 a los 60 anos. La mayoria de ellos en campesinos y agricultores. El 65% de los casos provienen de los Estados Lara y Falcon. Habiendose identificado las especiesCladosporium carrionii, Fonsecaea pedrosoi, Phialophora gougeroti. El 90% de los casos tenian localizaciones en miembros. Han incluido 44 casos de esporotricosis estudiados, 68% de sexo masculino, siendo la edad de mayor incidencia de 10 a 19 anos, la mayoria de los mismos (78%) campesinos y agricultores. Observan que todos los casos provienen de zonas superiores a los 500 mts. de altitud, regiones de alta pluviosidad, a excepcion de 2 de los casos conocidos. Un 88% estan localizadas en miembros, siendo de forma linfangitica el 21,6% de los casos. Finalmente senalan 2 casos de enfermedad de Jorge Lobo, procedentes de la Guayana Venezolana en personas de sexo masculino, y localizacion en pabellones auriculares.
