Abstract

1. Der Bacillus tumefaciens P. M. ist ein Mikroorganismus, welcher gegen Reaktionsanderung wenig empfindlich ist; er wachst beipH=5,4 bispH=8,2. 2. Das Filtrat durch Chamberland-L 5-Kerze, welches keine mikroskopisch sichtbaren Gebilde enthalt, zeigtim Ultramikroskop und nach der Bechhold-Villaschen Goldverstarkungsmethode keine Gebilde, welchefur ein bestimmtessubvisibles Virus charakteristisch sein konnten. 3. Das Agens im keimfreien Filtrat durch die Chamberland-L 5-Kerze, welches auf Ruben Wucherungen erzeugt, enthaltkein lebendes Virus, denn a) es passiert Ultrafilter, welche Gebilde von 20μμ Durchmesser und wahrscheinlich auch kleinere zuruckhalten. DasAgens gehort somit, falls spatere Versuche nicht noch kleinere Dimensionen erweisen,zu den fein dispersen Kolloiden von der Art der hydrophilen Kolloide und ist heterodispers; b) das Agenswidersteht der Kochtemperatur uber 20 Minuten lang; c) das Agenswidersteht einstundigerEinwirkung von 1%Phenol. 4. Das von uns alsTumefaciens-Plastin bezeichnete Agens, welches Wucherungen auf Gelberuben erzeugt, istnicht zu identifizieren mit den bekannten, einfach zusammengesetzten Stimulantien in der Art von Milchsaure, anorganischen Salzen oder Fettsauren.
