Abstract

1. Pleurogenes medians ruft beiBithynia tentaculata regelma\ig eine vollige Reduktion der Gonade hervor. 2. Der Schwund der Gonade ist auf die toxische Wirkung der Parasitenexkrete zuruckzufuhren. 3. Die von anderen Trematodenarten (Cercaria lophocerca, Cercaria grandis, Cercaria vesiculosa, Cercaria helvetica XI, Cercaria helvetica X, Cercaria sp. [Typus virgula]) verursachten Schadigungen der Gonade sind wahrscheinlich ebenfalls durch StoffWechselendprodukte bedingt. 4. Wahrscheinlich steuert die Gonade die Entwicklung des ubrigen Geschlechtsapparates. Sein Fortbestehen ist unabhangig von ihrer Existenz.
