Abstract

Begriff Adipositas druckt das Vorhandensein einer ubermassigen Menge von Fettgeweben im Vergleich zur Korpermasse aus. Die Korperfettmasse kann errechnet werden unter Einbezug des Alters und des Geschlechts anhand der Hautfaltendicke, die an verschiedenen Stellen gemessen wird. Im Rahmen des MONICA-Projekts wurden bei der Untersuchung der Pravalenz der Risikofaktoren fur kardiovaskulare Krankheiten auch die Hautfaltendicke an 4 Stellen (Bizeps, Trizeps, Skapula, Huftbein) bei 263 Einwohnern von Lausanne (125 Manner, 138 Frauen) gemessen. Bei den Mannern in der Altersgruppe 25–34 besteht 21±5% der Korpermasse aus Fett, bei den Frauen liegt dieser Wert bei 29±4%. Das Verhaltnis Fett: Korpermasse erhoht sich bis 31±7% bei Mannern und bis 41±6% bei Frauen in der Altersgruppe 55–64. Die «robusten Statistiken» erlauben die Korpermasse aufgrund des Korpermassenindexes einfach zu errechnen. Dies erlaubt, die Gultigkeit dieses Indexes zur Schatzung des Fettsuchtgrads in epidemiologischen Untersuchung zu benutzen.
