Aecidium fragiforme &A. balansae, parasites ofAgathis spp. in the Malay Archipelago and New Caledonia, respectively, are similar but separate species. They differ from all other confier-infecting rust fungi in having intra-epidermal spermogonia, and from nearly all others in having cupulate aecia.Caeoma sanctae-crucis onAraucaria in Chile has unique, multilocular spermogonia and has aecia unlike those of otherCaeomata on conifers.Mikronegeria fagi may be its telial stage.
