Abstract

A new bacterial pathogen ofZantedeschia aethiopica is described and a brief description is given of the disease symptoms. According to its physiological and biochemical reactions, and on the basis of its DNA base composition and pathogenic reactions, the new organism is tentatively designated asXanthomonas campestris var.zantedeschiae Joubert et Truter var. nov.
