Egg implant studies on sheep demonstrate that the relative fitness of resistance genotypes of the sheep blowfly, Lucilia cuprina, changes over time for the 2 insecticides dieldrin and diazinon. The results suggest that selection may occur following exposure of larvae to sub-lethal concentrations and help to explain the relative rates of the development of resistance to dieldrin and diazinon by L.cuprina.
