The blood cells ofStyela clava were shown by autoradiography with tritiated thymidine to be renewed after several weeks. Proliferating lymphocytes and leucocytes occurred in the lymph nodules and blood channels of the body. Vacuolated cells did not proliferate but differentiated from a precursor cell type.
