Der Einbau von Thymidin in Leberexplantate wird durch losliche Leberproteine gehemmt. Diese Hemmung ist aufgehoben, wenn die Proteine aus Lebern karzinogenbehandelter Tiere prapariert wurden. Dieser Effekt ist organspezifisch.
