Bienen, die einem kustlichen Magnetfeld ausgesetzt sind, halten sich nachts zu etwa 65% in der Nahe der magnetischen Hauptachsen auf, wahrend sich aufgrund der gesteigerten Aktivitat am Tage keine bevorzugte Anordnung ergibt. Eine Abhangigkeit der Magnetotaxis zu verschieden orientierten Herkunftsbeuten ist nicht feststellbar.
