Abstract

1. Durch eine Nachprufung widersprechender Angaben wurde festgestellt, das alle bekannt gewordenen Asbestosiskorperchen gleiche Eigenschaften haben. 2. Die mechanische Reizung der Lunge durch eingeatmeten Asbeststaub scheint nicht schwerwiegend zu sein, denn die Krankheitserscheinungen treten erst auf, nachdem die Reizwirkung gemildert oder ganz beseitigt ist. 3. Die Schadigung wird bei der Asbestosis wie bei der gewohnlichen Silicosis durch geloste Kieselsaure bewirkt. 4. Die Asbestosiskorperchen beschleunigen die Losung des Kieselsauregerustes der Asbestfasern. Daher verlauft die Asbestosis Schneller und schwerer als die gewohnliche Silicosis. 5. In solchen Fallen, in denen die Bildung von Asbestosiskorperchen unterbleibt oder verzogert erfolgt, genugt die Auflosung des Asbeststaubes an den Grenzflachen, um die Krankheitserscheinungen auszulosen. Die Asbestosis geht dadurch in eine normale Silicosis uber.
