Retroperitoneal varices in portal hypertension may simulate the appearance of neoplastic masses or adenopathy. Contrast-enhanced CT scans clarify the diagnosis of large vascular channels. Three patients with large retroperitoneal varices demonstrated on CT had confirmation by angiography.
