Über Gewöhnung an Narkotika

Abstract

1. Kaulquappen zeigen in Losung verschiedener Schlafmittel einige Zeit nach Eintritt leichter oder voller Narkose wieder einen mehr oder minder weitgehenden Ruckgang der Lahmung (Spontanerholung); mitunter wird die Erholung vollkommen. Eine noch ausgesprochenere Resistenzerhohlung last sich durch Vorbehandlung mit unterschwelligen Konzentrationen erreichen (Gewohnung). 2. Die einzelnen Tiere, wie die einzelnen Schlafmittel zeigen hinsichtlich der Beobachtbarkeit der Erholungserscheinung erhebliche Unterschiede. Besonders eignen sich ganz junge Kaulquappen, und als Narkotika die hoheren Alkylhomologen des Veronals, ferner Trional und Urethan. Bei Alkohol wurde weder spontane Erholung noch Gewohnung beobachtet. 3. Die Gewohnung scheint von der chemischen Zusammensetzung unabhangig, da gegen ein Narkotikum resistent gewordene Tiere sich ohne weiteres auch gegenuber verschiedenen anderen Narkotika refraktar verhalten konnen. Es scheint sich auch nicht um eine Abnahme der Wirksamkeit der Narkotika als solche, sondern um einen unspezifischen biologischen Adaptionsvorgang des Organismus zu handeln, dessen Wesen noch unklar ist.
