Abstract

Es werden Beobachtungen an einem BastardMedicago media × Medicago lupulina beschrieben. Der Bastard vereinigte verschiedene Eigenschaften der Elternarten in sich. Der Wuchs der Pflanze war intermediar, die Form der Blatter war der derMedicago lupulina ahnlich, die Ausbildung des Endzahnes der Fiederblatter intermediar. Die Bluten dagegen glichen vollig denen derMedicago media. Die Fertilitat des Bastards war nur sehr gering, auch nach kunstlicher Herstellung eines amphidiploiden Bastards durch Colchicinbehandlung. DieF 2 zeigte in den verschiedenen Eigenschaften eine kontinuierliche Variabilitat zwischen den reinen Elternarten, die aber selbst nicht auftraten. Nur eine Pflanze war der ArtMedicago lupulina sehr ahnlich, zeigte jedoch den aufrechten Wuchs der Luzerne. Vollig autogam und selbstfertil war nur dielupulina-ahnliche Pflanze. Vier weitere Pflanzen waren wohl autogam, aber nur beschrankt selbstfertil. Die Ergebnisse der cytologischen Untersuchungen fuhrten zu der Ansicht, das die Unterschiede der ArtenMedicago media undMedicago lupulina genisch und nicht chromosomal-strukturell bedingt sind.
