The present review includes a thorough morphological study of the pedicles of lumbar vertebrae. After a detailed description of the pedicles, their dimensions (transverse and vertical diameters, pediculo-corporeal length), their orientation and structure are studied. These different factors allow a better understanding of new orthopedic surgical techniques of the lumbar spine.
