Promazine was given over a 10-month period to 76 patients. It produced marked or moderate improvement in 53 patients. It was effective with patients in an age range from eight to 50 years, and an IQ range from 13 to 80. The only side effect observed was occasional drowsiness, which was easily counteracted.
