Abstract

1. Durch zweijahriges Lagern unter angegebenen Bedingungen andern sich die Eigenschaften des Hautpulvers in bezug auf sein Verhalten zu Salzsaurelosungen nicht. 2. Die Menge Chlorwasserstoffsaure, weiche von der Hautsubstanz aus der rein wasserigen Losung gebunden wird, ist unabhangig von der Konzentration der Saure. Das Gleichgewicht wird mit groser Geschwindigkeit schon vor Verlauf der ersten 5 Minuten der Einwirkung erreicht. 3. Durch Zusatz von Na Cl zu der Saurelosung wird die von dem Hautpulver gebundene Menge HCl wesentlich erhoht und wird gleichzeitig von der Konzentration der Saure in der Losung abhangig. Die Aufnahme von Salzsaure aus konzentrierter NaCl-Losung geschieht nach der allgemeinen Adsorptionsgleichung. 4. Diese scheinbare Adsorption scheint ein zusammengesetzter Vorgang zu sein. Die Adsorptionsfiguren machen den Eindruck, das bei den niedrigsten Konzentrationen eine chemische Reaktion zwischen der Hautsubstanz und HCl stattfindet, und das die entstehende Verbindung aus konzentrierteren Losungen noch weiter Salzsaure adsorbiert. 5. Die vermutliche Verbindung des Chlorwasserstoffes mit der Hautsubstanz enthalt auf 977 g Hautkollagen l Grammaquivalent HCl. Das so ermittelte Aequivalent der Hautsubstanz nahert sich sehr verschiedenen, in der Literatur angefuhrten Werten fur das Molekulargewicht der Gelatine.
