Abstract

1. Die wirksamen Stoffe des Mutterkornes sind solche mit aminartiger Struktur, hauptsachlich Ergotamin, Histamin und Tyramin. Alle anderen isolierten Stoffe scheinen wirkungslos zu sein. 2. Die genannte Blaufarbung tritt meistens beim Fluidextrakt deswegen nicht ein, weil fermentative (Redoxerscheinung!) und Prozesse, die durch Mikroorganismen bedingt sind, das Ergotamin abbauen. Begunstigt wird dieser Vorgang durch den stark ungesattigten Charakter des Ergotamins. 3. Die Ergotaminreaktion mit Oxydationsmitteln, Schwefelsaure und Eisessig scheint fur das Ergotamin kein Charakteristikum zu sein. 4. Bei der Ausfuhrung genannter Reaktionen mus man mit dem Zusatz des Oxydationsmittels sehr vorsichtig sein. Eine Spur zu viel last die Reaktion negativ ausfallen. 5. Dem fruher viel verordneten Infus. Secal. cornut. sollte wieder von befugten Kreisen mehr Aufmerksamkeit zugewendet werden. 6. Der Begriff des Redoxpotentials (rh) darf auch bei galenischen Praparaten nicht mehr ubersehen werden, da z. B. alle Fermentwirkungen eng mit diesem Begriff zusammenhangen.
