Abstract

Die zwei bis drei schraubig angeordneten Karpelle vonGomortega keule sind derart zu einem synkarpen Gynozeum verwachsen, das sie fur das nachstfolgende, aber nicht mehr ausgebildete Karpell einen entsprechenden Raum frei lassen. Dies fuhrt zu einer asymmetrischen Anordnung der Karpelle und ihrer Facher im Fruchtknoten, sowie zur Bildung eines verhaltnismasig langen Septalspaltes im Griffel. Nach der Stellung ihrer einzigen Samenanlage und deren Versorgung durch einen Ventralmedianus sind die Karpelle als peltat-schlauchformig zu bezeichnen; ihre zur synascidiaten Zone verwachsenen Schlauchteile bauen fast den gesamten unterstandigen Fruchtknoten auf.
