Abstract

Das synkarpe und einraumige Gynozeum der Canellaceen ist basal rudimentar gefachert. Die Vermutung, das diese Facherung durch die kongenitale Verwachsung der sehr gehemmten Schlauchbasen der somit peltaten Karpelle entstanden ist, wird durch das gelegentliche Auftreten von Ventralmediani in der Gynozeumbasis vonPleodendron macranthum bestatigt.
