Abstract

Zur Reduktion von Alkalipersulfaten mit Alkalijodidlosungen unter Bildung einer dem Persulfat dquivalenten Menge Jodat nach der von Erich Muller empfohlenen Methode haben die zahlreichen Titrationen folgendes gezeigt 1. Ein Uberschuss an reinem Jodid beeinflusst das Resultat nicht nachteilig. 2. Alkalihydroxyd im Cberschuss stort garnicht. Die Verwendung von Mengen, wie Erich Muller angibt, ist aber durchaus nicht notwen dig and schadet desto mehr in Gegenwart gewisser Reduktionsmittel. Zweckmasig verwendet man 1-2 ccm mehr Lauge als der angewandten Menge K2S2O8 theoretisch entspricht. Auf jeden Fall muss nachher die erhaltene Jodatlosung stark alkalisch reagieren. Auf 50 ccm 0,1 n-K2S2O8-Losung benutzt man also 6-7 ccm n-Lauge (KOH oder NaOH). 3. Einige Tropfen einer 0,05%igen OsO4-Losung leisten manehmal gute Dienste, weil dieser Zusatz die Jodatbildung in Gegenwart bestimmter Reduktionsmittel wesentlich fordert, besonders, wenn eine grossere Laugenmenge zur Anwendung kommt. 4. Ein Aufkochen der Flussigkeit auf dem Drahtnetz ist durchaus nicht erforderlich. Erwarmen auf dem Wasserbad his zur Entfarbung genugt vollkommen. Reinheit des Jodids and der Lauge (das Fehlen von reduzierenden Substanzen) ist die erste Bedingung. 5. Die Methode liefert sehr genaue Resultate and ist einfach auszufuhren. 6. Das Ammoniumpersulfat kann auf these Weise nicht bestimmt werden; Ammoniumsalze durfen uberhaupt nicht zugegen sein.
