The phosphate ceramic coatings made from Al2O3 and ZrO2 containing ortho- and metaphosphate of aluminum, in terms of properties (adhesion, thermal-shock resistance, and impact strength) are 1.5-3 times better than other coatings based on Al2O3 and ZrO2. The low thermal conductivity, the appreciable bonding strength with metals and alloys, and the high thermal-shock resistance enable us to recommend the coatings for protecting metals and alloys from the action of high-temperature gas currents.
