The authors discuss the most effective way of reducing metal and labor expenditure in the production of chemical machinery, which is the production of semi-products by the lost-wax casting process. The most acceptable method for individual and small-batch production of castings is the method of casting molds from master patterns made of low-melting lead-antimony or lead-tin alloys. The organization of small departments for the lost-wax process at plants producing chemical machinery enables these plants to save rolled stock on each ton of produced accurate castings and to make the production of components less laborious.
