An account is presented of changes in body-weight during therapeutic sleep, induced either by means of small doses of barbiturates with short-term action, chlorpromazine or conditioned reflex procedures. The weight increment was greatest in the barbiturate group (on an average 153.68./day) and was roughly double as compared with the weight changes in the remaining two groups.
