Setoglaucine 0 and Setocyanine Supra can be used as reagents for the detection of hexacyanoferrate(II) and hexacyanoferrate(III). The method consists of treating 0.1ml of 3% solution of Setoglaucine 0 or Setocyanine Supra, on the spot plate with one drop (0.05 ml) of the hexacyanoferrate(II) or hexacyanoferrate(III) and diluting the mixture to 0.5 ml. A blue precipitate is obtained with hexacyanoferrate(II), whereas a green precipitate is obtained with hexacyanoferrate(III). The interferences have been investigated.
