Within the large group of neuromuscular diseases, in addition to the often-encountered and well-studied diseases there exist rare forms of pathology which are poorly known to the broad circle of practicing physicians. The absence of information concerning these illnesses in textbooks and handbooks leads to difficulties in diagnosis and, consequently, also to the improper treatment of these diseases.
