A case of intestinal perforation, in a patient without lactose malabsorption but with Crohn's disease in the terminal ileum, which occurred during simultaneous lactose tolerance test and investigation of intestinal tract motility by use of a radio pill is reported. The mechanism is assumed to be the intestinal motility accentuated by the lactose administration in spite of normal absorption of lactose, so that the radio pill was ejected through the intestinal wall proximal to the affected segment.
