In the article under review, conditions for heat exchange are studied and the thermal efficiency of fins in a transverse flow \((\gamma =90\deg)\) is determined for some flow regimes and certain geometric properties of a surface with fins. The problem is regarded as a coupled problem, i.e., simultaneous propagation of heat is allowed both in the heat transfer agent and in the washed surface. The author considers a surface with annular or planar fins, and geometric and flow conditions for a single vortex to be formed in the inter-fin space.
