1. An analysis of methods of measuring the powder velocity in the detonation spraying of coatings has revealed some drawbacks of the revolving disk method. 2. The claim that the adhesion of a detonation-sprayed coating to its substrate depends solely on the velocity imparted to the powder particles by the detonation products is shown to be unfounded.
